Study humanity in all its diversity in our Social and Behavioral Sciences program, which will help you understand people’s behavior through their societies and cultures. The program stresses critical thinking and human relations. It gives an integrated perspective, which means you’ll be prepared for any number of careers — or further studies in education, law, medicine or management. We also offer two accelerated dual-degree programs in social and behavioral sciences for students who are interested in occupational therapy or athletic training.
What Makes Seton Hall Special?
Seton Hall student Joe Donato talks about what sets the University apart: academic excellence, diversity, the dynamic energy on campus — and more.
Our program blends the College of Arts and Science’s core requirements with a minor in one of the following: anthropology, criminal justice, economics, political science, social work or sociology. Students also study research methods and complete a senior seminar course. In each course, you’ll find highly engaged faculty and students, and small classes that foster deep discussion and forge lifelong bonds. Your adviser will help tailor this program to your individual interests and goals.
Our faculty members represent a wide variety of disciplines that cut across the social sciences and encompass areas related to the study of humanity in all its diversity. Drawing on faculty across the social and behavioral sciences, students learn an integrated perspective as they prepare for careers in many professional and applied areas, as educators, counselors and practitioners, policy makers and trailblazing researchers.
